QUIET MOTION

BMWi presented the QUIET MOTION installation in cooperation with the internationally successful designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec at the Salone del Mobile 2013.

The Bouroullecs found inspiration in the BMW i focus on lightweight construction, transparency, environmentally friendly materials and the new silent driving experience of the BMW i models. The result is a slowly and silently rotating installation reminiscent of a carousel that depicts BMW i's forward-looking vehicle design in a minimalist and aesthetic form using sustainable materials. The smooth rotation of the harmoniously arranged discs is ensured by unobtrusive drives located below the floor of the installation.
