FLOWER MEADOW

"Flower Meadow" is made up of five kinetic screen sculptures, each consisting of six bendable OLED displays. They are arranged in a petal-like formation and are controlled by a complex mechanism so that they open and close like natural flowers.

The electro-mechanical challenge was to develop a very thin bending mechanism and to design a mechanical system that allows all the petals to bend in conjunction with a combined tilting and rotating motion - all controlled by just one drive. The kinetic artworks are engineered to operate above the heads of visitors.
